Is there anything like this, if yes can you throw some light on it.
As far as I know for any L1 to become H1 needs to apply in the new H1 quota.
L1A is for managers and you actually have to work atleast one year outside the US to apply for a GC (L1A - GC)
L1B is most commonly used (abused). There is no minimum required pay and has no cap. Moving from L1B to H1b is a nightmare.

No, last LUD was in Dec. It does not matter, because in between LUDs are not happening. Directly people are getting a HARD LUD for GC approval.

Most personal finance books will tell you that cash life policies (such as Universal Life) are financially bad investments. They are laced with all sorts of fees, which is why salespeople recommend them.
I was proposing for combination. Not 100% UL. Only an agent can find a sweet spot of this combination. Instead if 100% term (ex. $35/mo for 30 years = $12,600). How about 20% UL and 80% term? In this case probably you will get 2 or 3K back (which is not bad instead of loosing entire amount). I was not suggesting Life Insurance as investment, sorry for not being clear. I met with my agent 3 times discussed all options and it worked out well for me.

My experience is that you can't collect your passport same day of your interview. After your interview, your visa will be approved. But your passport will get to VFS hand only after 2 business days. You might have to stay in Chennai for 2 days after your interview to be able to collect the passport from VFS counter in Chennai. I had same issue. I was suppose to be in US day after interview and passport was struck between consulate and VFS. I ended up coming to US 3 days after my initial Plan. Good luck. This is my experience from Nov 2006.

I am not sure about the voting schedule but the immigration bill will be debated in the Senate during the last two weeks of May.

It would be really ages before EB3 moves to Jan-03. I guess we can worry about the getting stuck(in Jan-03) part when we are there. Just trying to be realistic.
Currently EB3 is on May 01
What are the chances of EB3 also getting stuck around Jan 03.
Does any one know reason why so many EB2 were filed before Jan 03. Was there Apr 01 type of deadline??

CIS could have asked for a copy of your previous Advance Parole, for example, in the I-131 RFE. Hopefully you have received the RFE by now so you know what it asks for. You should also have got the I-140 notice. If not, you should call CIS to see where they sent it in case it went to the wrong address.

485 and FP will have same receipt number, you should get 3 recipt numbers for each (485, AP and EAD) ..
We have
1 LIN Receipt number for 485 (and FP)
2 LIN Receipt numbers for EAD
2 LIN Receipt numbers for AP
total of - 5 receipt numbers.

Hi,
I have filed 140/485 for myself and wife as dependant. Unfortunately, there is a RFE on 140 and wife still has not recieved the EAD. I have just realized that my wife's H1 B 6 years will expire in another 4 months.
What are the options to extend my wife's H1B beyond 6 years as she doesnt have the LC on her name.? I have another 2 years left on my h1b.
Please adivse.

This topic may be a bit counterproductive to what we've set to achieve as IVians but I hope folks see this in a true light. I could have set the title 'Return to Homeland', in my case its Return to India, hence the title.
I have been here for the past 9 years and as days progressed, my heart is back home. I may be closer than I ever was to get a GC but it seems I am to a point where I really want to give a shot to R2I. Reasons are several and are probably alike to several of yours. Family, Support and the whole other 9 yards..
That said, finding jobs back home while you are here in US seem not the easiest. I have seen a few in Google/Microsoft but I suppose there are many more. I am looking to return to Hyderabad. The reason why I am posting this here to is to seek help. If you or your friends work for companies that are looking for experienced managers to R2I, I would appreciate if you could post it here or PM me.
I am looking to R2I early next year but if the right opportunity comes along, I cud do it sooner than that. Thanks.
