We gave for fingerprints 5 days back but our LUD on I-485 is not yet updated. Is this common?
I-485 receipts from NSC.
Most of my friends LUD is updated within 2 days of giving finger prints.
Please post your experiences.

G-28 is for attorney representation - if a registered attorney is representing an applicant we give the authoraization so that USCIS deal directly with attorney. I am not sure if there is anything like "G-28 Self". In case where we already filed G-28 and gave authorization to one attorney - changing it to another attorney seems a bit straight forward - send a new G-28 and request to supersede it with earlier one. But just cancelling the earlier one so we represent ourselve seems a bit grey. But its just my understanding if anyone has done self representation and successfull changed G-28 - please let all of us know.
(Note: I am thinking of going with lawyer just for this G-28; my old employer may not revoke approved I140 so I was thinking of not sending AC21 letter; but want to change the lawyer representation so that any communication will get to me; no lawyer is offering just this everyone I talked to are clubbing G-28 with AC21 and charging accordingly)

Yeah I think it makes sense to fill I9 form because that way you make it clear that your intent moving forward is to be on AOS rather than H1. In case you dont do it then you are on dual status with H1 being primary status so in that case it is open to wide interpretation of CIS officers to classify it as out of status or in status.

Do we need to pay $340 for the second renewal of EAD and AP?
USCIS page says, no fee only if you have filed 485 after July 30, 2007.
I also have paid for EAD and AP for all of us,wife,son and myself.

It is certainly possible that the response was based only on the information available online, but there is no way to know for sure. That is why it is important to get written confirmation that USCIS rec'd your RFE response.

I am planning to book tickets for my parents travelling from India to US and returning back to India after 2 months. I have some questions:
1) Is it necessary to book tickets in India?
2) If not, Can I book tickets through orbitz or expedia in the US and send them the e-tickets?

Hi there,
In my research I came across L1 visas. I am aware of the qualifications required for L1A. My question is does this visa usually get a Green card in 6 months or so ? Somebody told me these are current and the GC process is less than 6 months ?
Anyone with personal experience or knowledge do elaborate

Be patient. That's OK. One more thing, do you have a login on USCIS site and a portofolio of your cases. If you login and see your portofilio, you may see a LUD on I-485. But when you expand the message, there won't be any update.

Do you think that the post poned to march for the senate debate is due to preparation to handle the 11 milion immigrants?
Another question, i feel some anymosity (sorry for my english) for the Illegals immigrants, i am not one of them, i am legal and beleive i don`t have any problem for a visa, but as immigrant i see a lot of them struggling and working like animals for few dollars, and sometime they become illegals due to the confusion about the law. Do you know how much cost a lawier ? I really think that exist only immigration, no difference for me.

Legal is referring to me as the stuck moderator who may not like your making fun of a Representative on this forum.
I deleted a post of his that made fun of Rep. Sensenbrenner's name.
He doesn't realize that we, the IV core team, now have to go hat in hand to the same Rep. Sensenbrenner to have the SKIL bill passed through the House Judiciary committee.
Legal wants the rest of us to pay for his freedom of expression - and no value add - on this public forum.
Enough said from me on this issue.

I just got my Labor done few days back. I am in India now, but looks like I have to file I140/485 before Aug 17th. For this, MUST I fly back immediately, or can I file from India (by couriering the required documents).
How will this work for my wife (who is on H4 now)?
If I only travel back to US, can I file for my wife too. Or I file it for myself, and file for my wife after Aug17th when she is back.
Or MUST my wife also be present in US to file the I140/485?
Pls advice.

Be careful with your answer Owen... You already know what could happen with the thread... If everything goes as planned I'll be giving it a work out while shooting a gymnastics event this weekend. I can easly take thousands of shots during the event...
Last year I had to get up close and use a 50mm 1.8 lense with the d200 due to the poor lighting. I am hoping that I will be able to use the 70-200 2.8vr lense along with the d300. I have to stay a bit behind in the technology, so that I can afford new equipment ;) Who knows maybe I'll be able to pay for a good chunk of it with sales from the event ;)
I hope that it performs better in the high iso ranges as I have read.

I..sort of have turned philosophical abt the whole process. Having said that, I also see bright flashes off and on...(just kiddin'). I talk optimism, walk optimism, eat optimism, sleep optimism :) ..ends here!.
If all that it takes is - a copy of our presentation to be mailed/emailed to this 'super cop' of a minister or his office, I would still do it. That way, I have at least challenged him..

What i have heard is that the RFE for I140 are mostly for ability to pay and for educational qualifications.
