This is not a big issue. Find out from local hospitals how much they charge for all delivery options and sign a contract with a hospital most convenient to you. They normally would accept monthly payments through the child birth. Also discuss post-birth mother and child health checks and shots. I would first look for an University Hospital in the area.

As per my attorney, there is no validity requirement for the passport, just that it should be valid at the time of AOS application. So, the OP should be ok. But like others said, do apply for a new passport as soon as possible.

I too have got I140 Approved already in Sept 05.
My concept was that once I140 is approved you are free. Employer cannot do anything.
After 140 approval can employer do anything to jeopardize the GC Process.

2005 140 is approved.
2007 I left employer to work in non US Location. ( No US Income )

2008- Re-joined him. and filed 485 in EB2. Its is pending .I got AP and EAD Already

You are merely a beneficiary of 140 application, the petitioner is your GC sponsoring company - only the company or representative has the authority to make inquiries. First step, you should ask your attorney or company to call USCIS and mention that your 140 is outside processing time and also you had responded to an RFE , it has passed standard response/decision time (usually 60 days) - ask the CSR to open an SR. For the most cases that I know, this has triggered a decision with in 45 days from the date of SR. Hope this helps.

Sick & tired of this VSC processing time frames, I hope they know what they are doing?
Applied for my H1/H4 (8th year) extension on October 22, 2007 and no approval as of today..not sure how long its going to take in order to approve these H1/H4 extension....my last approved H1 will expire in March 1st week of 2008. (still waiting for 140 approval at TSC).. Drama part-2 starts when ever 140 gets approved and applying for another extension .. oh lord!!
Not sure if VSC is trying to meet processing time frames for these visa extension applications with applicants Date of Birth....:D (I am sure that's what they are trying to do with cases filed in EB2 for 140/485)
oh god!! please give us energy & patience to deal with this processing centers!!

Currently I am on h1( completed 1 year) working in construction industry. My profile consist of Bachelors from India and Masters from USA.
The company I work for is not willing to go ahead with my green card. ( With the economy going south, its not wise to jump). But know a company who liked my profile and is willing to sponsor my green card-EB2. The reason they are not willing to hire now is due to economy, but willing to help me in my GC process before hiring and might pick me up at first opportunity.
Something like this: I am employed for Company A on h1 and company B is willing to do my paperwork as a future potential employee?
I had various concerns:
>> Is green card application based on future employment possible, (as in my situation)?
>> GC takes 4-5 yrs to process. What if they decide not to hire me?
>> What are the risk factors involved on my side as well as on Companies side who is sponsoring my GC?

Nope...once you have used your EAD you cannot go back to H1-B. AFAIK.
but I am not an expert so I guess others around here might have a different take. Best,

Me too in Same situation had Masters degree but in 2003 we thought Category wont matter much as dates were current..Hmm look what it got us into now for EB3's

Recently I heard about RFE on medicals for some of my friends. All of them who got RFE on medicals, entered US using AP.
Do you had any travel outside US and used AP to enter?
I used AP in Feb 2008 when we went to Australia. But my wife did use her H1b to enter.
Got RFE for both of us.
